Projects

Camp 54 has taken on the improvements of the Civil War burial plots at Mt Hope Cemetery in Boston. These plots had been neglected and were damaged by vandalism and we work to bring this back to its original glory.

Col. Shaw Bio

Camp 54 is named in honor of Boston native Colonel Robert Gould Shaw, commanding Officer of the famed 54th Massachusetts Infantry, the second African American regiment raised in the US Civil War. The 54th fought with extreme heroism at the second battle of fort Wagner.
